60 Days Pre-sale Period for China Train Tickets Now

09
Dec
2014

From December 1, 2014, passengers will be allowed to book train tickets online and via telephone 60 days ahead of their departures, in a new policy to help handle the traffic peak.

China Railways Corporation announced on its offical website 12306.cn, the pre-sale period for train tickets would be extended from 20 days to 30 days on December 1, 2014. 6 more pre-sale days would be extended every day from December 2-6, 2014. The 60 days pre-sale period would be kept from December 6, 2014.

The adjustment is applied to both online and telephone ticket reservations. However, the pre-sale time at the railway stations and ticket outlets will keep following the principal of 2-day delay as current policy.

According to the solution, the tickets for the first day of 2015 Spring Festival travel rush (February 4th - March 15th) are available on December 7, 2014. Passengers are advised to make a booking as early as possible if traveling during that period.
