New high-speed Railways will take you from Kunming to Guilin
New bullet trains will take you directly from Kunming to Guilin, with the launch of Shanghai-Kunming and Nanning-Kunming high-speed Railways on December 28, 2016.
It is expected that there will be 6 pair of trains every day running between Kunming and Guilin, according to the new railway operation diagram to be adopted on January 5 of 2017 year.
Three of the six pairs of bullet train will reach Guilin via Kunming-Guiyang section of Shanghai-Kumming passenger line and then Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway. The travel time will be shorten from 21 to 5 hours.
Along Nanning-Kunming High Speed Railway, the other three pairs of bullet trail will arrive in Nanning first, via Liuzhou, and then get to Guilin; with a journey time of about 8 hours.
About Nanning-Kunming High Speed RailwayThe Nanning-Kunming (also called Yunnan-Guangxi) High Speed Railway not only connects Kunming and Nanning, but also Kunming and Guangzhou via the Nanning-Guangzhou High Speed Railway, hence linking Southwest China with Pearl River Delta.
About Shanghai-Kunming passenger line
The Shanghai-Kunming passenger line is the longest east to west high-speed railway in China, which is made up of three sections: the Shanghai-Hangzhou, the Hangzhou-Changsha and the Changsha-Kunming lines. Travelling 2,080 kilometers from the east to the northwest, this line traverses five provinces, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guizhou and Yunnan.
